New appointment booking platform for subsequent applications launched by the Asylum Service

Beginning August 22 (Monday), applicants of international protection whose initial application for international protection has received a final rejection, can book an appointment through the electronic platform “Subsequent Application Registration Appointment” in order to submit a Subsequent Application of international protection. More specifically, the electronic platform addresses only third-country nationals whose initial application for international protection in Greece has been rejected and who now wish to submit a new application.

The Asylum Offices in Katehaki Avenue will be closed to the public on Friday, January 28th.

We would like to inform you that, in order to ensure personal safety in the recent extreme weather conditions, the Asylum Service Offices located on Katehaki Avenue (RAO of Attica, AU of Fast-track Examination, AU of Applicants from Pakistan, and AU of Beneficiaries of International Protection) will be closed to the public, tomorrow, Friday 28/1/2022.

All cancelled appointments will be rescheduled on priority and all visitors will be personally contacted.

The meetings of the Independent Appeal Committees will resume on Thursday, January 27th.

Tomorrow, Thursday, January 27th, 2022, the scheduled meetings of the Independent Appeal Committees (Appeals Authority) will resume and will be held as scheduled, according to the relevant Circular of the Ministry of Internal (ΔΙΔΑΔ/Φ.69/198/οικ.1108/26.1.2022).

Operation of the Ministry's Services and Offices throughout the country on Wednesday, January 26th

We would like to inform you that as severe weather conditions continue on Wednesday, January 26th, throughout the country, the Offices and Services of the Ministry of Migration & Asylum will be closed on Wednesday, January 26th, in the following regions: Attica, Dodecanese Islands, Cyclades Islands, Crete, Viotia, and Evia.

Important Announcement - COVID-19 Measures

We would like to inform you that for the protection of public health (Joint Ministry Decision 69136/2021) and starting November 6, 2021, the following are required in order to visit and receive service from any Service of the Ministry of Migration & Asylum (e.g. Asylum Service, Migration Services, Appeals Authority, etc.):

a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or COVID-19 infection
b. a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 performed up to 72 hours or rapid test performed up to 48 hours (for the unvaccinated)

We would like to inform you that from November 06, 2021, all persons shall enter the Appeals Authority building upon the production of :

a. a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or COVID-19 infection

b. a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 performed up to 72 hours or rapid test performed up to 48 hours (for the unvaccinated)

Minors from 4 to 17 years old can, alternatively, submit a statement of negative self-diagnostic test (self-test) up to 24 hours.

The Ministry for Migration and Asylum undertakes the provision of financial aid to asylum seekers as of Friday, October 1 2021

The "financial assistance programme as a material reception condition for applicants for international protection", which has been implemented since 2017 by UNHCR with direct emergency funding from the European Union, will be taken over by the Ministry for Migration and Asylum from 1 October 2021.

The programme will continue to be funded by the EU and it is provided under the country's obligations under Directive 2013/33/EU on "the criteria for the reception of applicants for international protection".
