Important Announcement - COVID-19 Measures

We would like to inform you that for the protection of public health (Joint Ministry Decision 69136/2021) and starting November 6, 2021, the following are required in order to visit and receive service from any Service of the Ministry of Migration & Asylum (e.g. Asylum Service, Migration Services, Appeals Authority, etc.):

a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or COVID-19 infection
b. a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 performed up to 72 hours or rapid test performed up to 48 hours (for the unvaccinated)

Operation of Appeals Authority, COVID-19

We would like to inform you that from November 06, 2021, all persons shall enter the Appeals Authority building upon the production of :

a. a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or COVID-19 infection

b. a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 performed up to 72 hours or rapid test performed up to 48 hours (for the unvaccinated)

Minors from 4 to 17 years old can, alternatively, submit a statement of negative self-diagnostic test (self-test) up to 24 hours.

The Ministry for Migration and Asylum undertakes the provision of financial aid to asylum seekers as of Friday, October 1 2021

The "financial assistance programme as a material reception condition for applicants for international protection", which has been implemented since 2017 by UNHCR with direct emergency funding from the European Union, will be taken over by the Ministry for Migration and Asylum from 1 October 2021.

The programme will continue to be funded by the EU and it is provided under the country's obligations under Directive 2013/33/EU on "the criteria for the reception of applicants for international protection".

The international protection applicants' cards of beneficiaries of the ESTIA program are being replaced by new (smart) cards

We would like to inform you that the Asylum Service is replacing the old paper version of the international protection applicant’s cards with new cards (smart cards).

If you live in the apartments/housing of the ESTIA program, and you are an applicant of international protection (i.e. your interview or decision of international protection is pending) please search in the following website address your scheduled appointment to change your existing card to the new one :
